Repair North Jet Fuel Pipeline, V-3 to
POAVY. Elmendorf AFB, Alaska
U.S. Air Force, 3rd Contracting Squadron
Value: 1.3 Million
Project scope was to repair 6300
lineal feet of aging below grade 12” carbon steel pipeline from the Port of
Anchorage to Elmendorf AFB. The
pipeline traverses a congested area at the Port of Anchorage, involving
steep terrain, to Elmendorf Air Force Base.
The project was completed in July 2004 by flushing the pipeline,
hydrostatic testing, pigging, and tying in to the existing pipelines in the
Port of Anchorage and on Elmendorf
Air Force Base.

Fuel Stand and Tank
Farm 5 Roads

Value: $474,966
Project included providing above grade and below grade welded
carbon steel piping for a new single position, truck fill station including
control valve, meters, loading arms, surge suppressor and controls. A complete concrete containment slab for
new truck fill station was also installed with new a/c pavement access
driveway. Site was graded and the
existing apron re-paved
(approximately 44,000 sq. feet). Design-build project. Took project from 35% design through
completion.

Tank Farm 3 and 4 –
2003 Repairs
U.S. Air Force, 3rd Contracting Squadron
Value: $490,000
Project involved providing above and below grade welded carbon
steel piping as required for tie in the existing below grade bulk fuel
storage tanks located at Tank Farm 3 to Tank Farm 4 truck fill
station. Project provided
approximately 1100 linear feet of 8” below grade piping between the tank
farms and included the installation of vertical turbine pumps and
associated piping, a PLC control system to monitor product levels in six
each 60,000 gallon UST’s which provided product on demand at each of the four
truck fill stations. Project also
included industrial coatings application, hydrostatic testing below grade
pipeline, flushing and commissioning of the system. Design-build
project. Took project from 35%
design through completion.
Manufactured and installed aluminum rolling valve pit covers.

Bryant Air Field,
Repair POL Facility

Project involved the restoration/repair/upgrade JP-4 Helicopter
refueling and bulk storage facility including: Providing above grade carbon
and stainless steel piping, installation of filter separators, meter, pantograph, and controls; clean
and repair double wall underground bulk storage tanks, fencing upgrades,
and miscellaneous civil improvements.

Project located on Air
Force facility 800 miles south of Hawaii.
Project called for providing truck fill stand with secondary
containment with normally open drain valve, MOGAS dispensers, bottom
loading hoses for MOGAS, and diesel loading for Facility 50; modification
and removal of existing below grade valve pits and installation of above
grade valve stations, double block and bleed valves and pressure relief
piping. Provide hydrostatic test and leak location of cross island
pipelines.

Project scope included the modification of existing truck fill
stand and repair the bulk storage tank located on Air Force facility 800 miles
southwest of Hawaii.
Installation of bottom-loading hose for Jet 5 fuel
loading facility; horizontal filter separator; relaxation chamber;
product recovery tank and pressure relief piping for
Facility 265; repair above grade JP-5 bulk storage tank in accordance
with API 653
Weldin Construction received a special award from the
Admiral of the Navy for this project.

Complete new truck fill stand, including demolition and removal of existing
building, blasting, inspection, and coating of existing underground fuel
storage tanks, and complete electrical system upgrade. Project also involves
complete civil/sitework, including new roads, storm drain system, and
concrete hard stand. Demolition and removal of existing fuel lines, and
replacement with stainless steel fuel lines.

Installation of below-grade fuel piping for truck fuel stand and containment
