Richard Weldin, President

      Richard Weldin, through his 30 years of experience in the construction industry in Alaska, has gained valuable knowledge and expertise with a “hands-on” approach supervising over $100 million in projects for federal and state contracting agencies as well as private industry.  He has managed all facets of construction from direct supervision of projects ,as well as overseeing a team of eight project managers in all trades related to construction including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, vertical, and design-build projects.

     Richard began his construction career working as a heavy equipment operator and foreman during the Trans-Alaska Pipeline construction on the North Slope and at Valdez terminal.  Weldin Construction, Inc. began operations with a makeshift office in the family's laundry room.  The company now employs 80 individuals on a year-round basis.  Richard is a past President and CEO of Ninilchik Native Association and is a past board member of the Associated General Contractors of Alaska.  He is also the past recipient of the Small Business Administration Minority Business Person of the year award.

James D. Pereira, Fuels Sr. Project Manager/Superintendent

    Mr. Pereira has 20 years of specific experience in construction with specialty emphasis in process piping, fuel systems, excavation, pipe laying, underground utility construction work, and underground storage tank removal and replacement.  He has extensive knowledge and experienced in heavy equipment operations, and materials and subcontract management.

Terry D. Edwards, Civil Sr. Project Manager/Superintendent

    Mr. Terry Edwards has over 30 years experience in civil construction in Alaska with over 60,000 hours directing heavy equipment.  He has a broad background in heavy construction, from building major highways and overpasses to campgrounds and landfills to excavation for underground utilities.  Terry’s overall responsibilities include project management, project layout and scheduling, crew supervision, coordination of subcontractors and suppliers, overseeing timely completion of project report and drawings, as well as being an integral part of site-work estimating and bidding.

Michael C. Gardino, Mechanical Sr. Project Manager/Mechanical Administrator

    Mr. Michael Gardino is a highly experienced Project Manager with 40 years' experience in construction.  His expertise includes estimating, inspection, civil construction and plumbing and pipefitting.  He is a mechanical engineer and hold numerous mechanical and plumbing licenses in various states.  He has managed projects ranging in size from $1 million to $120 million.  Mike has over 30 years experience working in Alaskan arctic conditions and is the recipient of numerous safety awards and commendations for the projects he has managed.

Jennie S. Weldin, Corporate Secretary/Treasurer

    Mrs. Jennie Weldin has over 25 years of experience in office management and office administration.  She spent 20 years in the legal field as a legal secretary, legal assistant and judicial assistant to a federal judge.  She has extensive knowledge and experience in subcontract management, corporate and business organizations, banking, bonding and insurance issues, technical writing, bookkeeping, and general office management.
